Before connecting with the West Central Region Job Center, Jeffrey was piecing together a living through odd jobs—working hard, but without the stability or long-term security he wanted for his future.
That changed when he began working with a Career Coach and enrolled in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Program. Seeking to transition into welding, Jeffrey received a full scholarship to Iron Eagle Academy, funded entirely through the Quest Grant. Beyond tuition assistance, the program provided comprehensive supportive services, equipping him with the tools he needed to complete his classes.
Jeffrey excelled in his coursework, ultimately earning his diploma from Iron Eagle Academy. He went on to pass the American Welding Society (AWS) tests, securing dual All-Position Structural Welding Certifications in both SMAW and GMAW welding.
Today, Jeffrey is employed full-time as a welder at Tracker Boats in Bolivar, Missouri, earning a stable wage. The transformation in his day-to-day life has been profound. By replacing odd jobs with a steady career, he is now completely self-sufficient.
